BISP Kafaalat Program eligibility through ID card update [Rs13,500 per quarter]


LAHORE – Benazir Kafaalat Program is the core initiative of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), which was initiated in 2008.

The initiative has become the largest single cash transfer programme in Pakistan’s history. The short term objective of the initiative is to save marginalised segment of society from negative effects of slow economic growth, food crisis and inflation on the poor, particularly women, through provision of cash assistance to eligible families.

The long term objectives of program is to eradicate extreme and chronic poverty, along with women empowerment, as set out in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Number Beneficiaries for Kafaalat Program

The Benazir Income Support Program is currently providing financial assistance to over 9.3 million deserving families across the country.

According to the BISP, an amount of Rs10,500 per quarter is currently being distributed to needy women under the Benazir Kafalat Program. From the next year, this amount will be increased to Rs13,500 per quarter.

The deserving families can check eligibility through their computersied national identity card (CNIC) online.
