Polythene-free Gulmarg to become a reality under ‘Mission Ehsaas’
Srinagar, July 24: In a significant development for environmental conservation, Mission Ehsaas is set to extend its impact to Gulmarg.
This initiative, known for its commitment to creating a plastic and polythene-free environment, will now collaborate with the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) to further its goals.
Manzoor Wangnoo, Chairman of the Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), met with Wasim Raja (JKAS), CEO of GDA, to discuss integrating Mission Ehsaas into Gulmarg. The dialogue centered on aligning with Raja’s commendable efforts to transform Gulmarg’s environmental landscape.
Wangnoo expressed his gratitude to Raja for his invitation and his dedication to Gulmarg’s ecological well-being. “We are excited to collaborate with the Gulmarg Development Authority to advance our mission of a plastic-free Gulmarg,” said Wangnoo. “Our efforts will focus on enhancing environmental conservation and promoting sustainable practices.”
Wangnoo also extended his thanks to the LG administration, acknowledging their support for Mission Ehsaas campaigns. He expressed hope that their continued support will play a crucial role in the success of this new initiative.Special acknowledgement was given to Peerzada Faiyaz and Farooq Kuthoo, past presidents of TAAK, for their valuable contributions during the meeting.
A delegation of NLCO is scheduled to visit Gulmarg this Saturday to explore opportunities for contributing to Gulmarg’s ecological preservation. This new chapter of Mission Ehsaas aims to foster collective efforts and drive significant positive change in Gulmarg’s environmental health.
“This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing journey toward a cleaner, greener Gulmarg,” said Wangnoo.
